Accepting these terms

These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and NovaLearn covering your use of the NovaLearn website, apps and study tools. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.

You also confirm that you are old enough to enter this agreement where you live. Where local law sets a minimum age for online services and requires a parent or guardian to agree, you may only use NovaLearn with their involvement.

Your account

• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including activity from any device you sign in from.
• Keep your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
• One account per person. Tell us if you are an instructor arranging access for a class — bulk classroom access is handled separately, not through duplicate accounts.
• You must give accurate registration details. We rely on them to route support and, for institutions, to confirm you are in the class.

What NovaLearn does with your material

NovaLearn turns material you upload — slides, readings, lecture recordings, notes and past papers — into study tools: notes, flashcards, outlines, quizzes and study plans. Tutor Me is a voice study partner that coaches you through a topic.

The study tools are generated from the material you gave us. They are a study aid, not an authority. Always check a summary or a generated question against the source before you rely on it in an exam or an assignment.

AI output and accuracy

Generative features can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they can miss nuance that matters in your subject. We do not guarantee that any output is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.

We do not invent citations. Where a feature cannot answer from your material or from what it actually knows, we aim for it to say so rather than guess — but you should still verify anything consequential.

AI output is not a substitute for your own judgement, and submitting it as your own work may breach your institution's academic integrity rules. You are responsible for how you use what we produce.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything you create in NovaLearn. We claim no ownership of your coursework.

You give us the limited permission needed to operate the service for you: to store your material, process it into the study tools you asked for, and display it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the material or close your account.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload material you do not have the right to share, and do not upload anything confidential, proprietary or personal about someone else without their consent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use NovaLearn to:

• break the law, or infringe someone else's rights, privacy or intellectual property;
• upload material that is unlawful, or that you do not have the right to use;
• attempt to access another person's account, or to probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the service without our written permission;
• circumvent, disable or interfere with any security, rate limit or access control;
• scrape, resell, rebrand or redistribute the service or its study tools as your own product;
• use automated systems to generate abusive traffic, or to extract answers at a scale a human could not.

Plans, fees and renewals

NovaLearn offers free and paid plans. What each plan includes, and what it costs, is shown at the point of purchase rather than buried here.

If you subscribe, the plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel from your account settings, and cancelling stops the next renewal — it does not by itself refund the current period.

Where a plan is bought for a billing period you have partly used, any refund is handled under the cancellation terms presented at purchase. Prices may change; we will tell you before a renewal is charged at a new price.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep NovaLearn available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may be changed, added or withdrawn as the product develops, and we may retire a feature with reasonable notice.

Ending your account

• You can close your account at any time from your settings.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that we are required to act on by law. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.
• When your account closes we will delete or de-identify your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

Except where the law says otherwise, the service is provided as-is and we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from your use of NovaLearn is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income, grades or data. We are not liable for academic outcomes — grades depend on your course, your attendance, your own work and your institution's marking.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change is material we will tell you before it takes effect — through the product or by email — and the updated date at the top of this page will change.

Continuing to use NovaLearn after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you can close your account.
